Regulations Available for Rainworth Skoda Centenary Stages at RAF Barkston Heath

Sheffield & Hallamshire Motor Club have come to an agreement with the Defence Estates, with the outcome being that the club's Centenary Stages, sponsored by Rainworth Skoda, will now go ahead at RAF Barkston Heath as originally planned.

The event is a round of the Rainworth Skoda EMAMC Multi-Use Rally Championship, Roadrunner Phoenix Awards ANEMMC Stage Rally Championship, and the ANWCC Stage Rally Championship.

Regulations are now available and entries are now being accepted. Please be advised however, that this year's event offers reduced mileage due to restrictions on our use of operational parts of the venue.

Centenary Stages at Newark Showground

12/5/2010

Newark Showground

Sheffield & Hallamshire Motor Club have secured Newark Showground as the new venue for 2011's Centenary Stages.

After losing RAF Barkston Heath when the Defence Estates prohibited motor sport at the venue, the club was forced to look for other venues. Having agreed a deal with the Showground, the rally date will now move to 17th July 2011, several weeks earlier than the usual date, as this was the only weekend available.

The deal has not come in time for this year's Centenary Stages however, and the club is nearing an announcement on the venue for this event, held on 22nd August.

Hallamshire Stages - RAF Barkston Heath

Hallamshire Stages Cancelled

Sheffield & Hallamshire Motor Club's Hallamshire Stages, due to be held at RAF Barkston Heath on 23rd May, has been cancelled due to circumstances beyond the Club's control.

In March the Club was informed of a new policy prohibiting motorsport activity on operational surfaces at active RAF bases. This decision meant that we can no longer use RAF Barkston Heath as a venue for our events. The club has worked to find an alternative venue, but with just six weeks until the event is scheduled to take place, we have decided that there is now insufficient time left to organise a top quality event. We send our apologies to those competitors looking forward to the Hallamshire Stages, and thank them for their understanding. Our efforts will now be put into securing a venue for the Centenary Stages in August.
