This year is the Sheffield and Hallamshire Motor Clubs 19th
Annual Motor Show to be held in the Hope Valley. The show has been
run by other motor sport clubs in one form or another since the
1920s; as far as we know the only break being during the war years.
This means it is something over 80 years old. This year the show
will be organised and run by the Sheffield University Motorsports
Company (SUMSCO) in conjunction with Sheffield & Hallamshire
Motor Club.
The Sheffield University Motorsports Company is a budding motorsport
enterprise run by a group of 7 students currently pursuing various
engineering and engineering management courses at the University
of Sheffield. Their aim is to develop the company into a reputable
enterprise in the motorsport industry in South Yorkshire within
the next few years. Therefore, they will be working hand in hand
with the Sheffield & Hallamshire Motor Club to ensure another
wonderful Motor Show in June. This year the Sheffield & Hallamshire
Motor Club is in its 101st year of existence whilst SUMSCO is in
its first; to this end, we can promise a successful show combining
experience with innovation.
We would like to invite you to bring your vehicle - or more than
one if you like! - along to the Travellers Rest, Brough Lane
Head, Hope Valley (O/S map ref: 110:184/828, A625) on Monday June
20th 2005 where you are assured of a very warm welcome. There will
be the opportunity to meet old friends, make new ones, and sample
the hospitality of the Travellers
Rest, all in the spectacular surroundings of the Hope Valley.
The S & H Motor Show is the one time when car and bike lovers,
motor sport addicts and enthusiasts get together to exhibit a unique
mix of Competition, Vintage and Classic vehicles.
If you would like to exhibit please complete and return the entry
form no later than 10th June for inclusion in the programme. Please
try to arrive by 6:30 pm bringing the number card which we will
send to you in due course. If you know anyone else with a vehicle
of the calibre expected at this show, please do not hesitate to
copy the entry form for them.
We really do appreciate the effort put in by you, the owners,
who make it all possible and look forward to seeing you in June!
Best Regards,
Mrs. Tina Asquith and Sheffield University Motor Sport Compan
